Disney+ has given a 10 episode, straight-to-series order to “DIARY OF A FEMALE PRESIDENT,” produced by CBS Television Studios and I Can and I Will, Gina Rodriguez’s (“Jane the Virgin”) production company.
Told from the narration of her diary, the series follows a Cuban-American 12 year old girl as she navigates the ups and downs of middle school and her journey to becoming the future president of the United States.
Gina Rodriguez and Emily Gipson (I Can and I Will) will executive produce along with Ilana Peña (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”) attached as creator/writer and Robin Shorr (The Carmichael Show”) as showrunner.
The series will be made for Disney+, The Walt Disney Company’s upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service, which is set to launch in the US in late 2019.
